El pasado 28 de junio, Baldemar Velásquez, Presidente y fundador de Farm Labor Organizing Committee (FLOC), sostuvo una reunión en las oficinas del Sindicato para informar que ya se inició con la inscripción de nuevos miembros, a quienes se les expide una tarjeta de identificación con la intensión de presionar a la policía de Toledo y la oficina del Alguacil del Condado de Lucas para el reconocimiento de la misma; con el objetivo de evitar inmerecidas detenciones y deportaciones.

President to seek immigration reform by executive order

July 8, 2014: President Barack Obama’s promise to exercise executive authority to provide immigration reform may come as a relief to many Latinos, their families and friends, especially those caught in the web of deportation proceedings and those who assist them.

Free Amphitheater Series

The 2014 season will begin Saturday, July 12th at the Amphitheater located behind the Toledo Police Department Sub-Station at 2205 Kenwood Blvd, Toledo.  Show times are 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Concerts are free and open to the public.

Ciudad de México.- Durante la XXIII reunión del Consejo Consultivo del Instituto de los Mexicanos en el Exterior que se realizó la última semana del mes de junio en San Juan del Río, Querétaro, se discutió entre otros temas, la importancia del voto de los mexicanos en el exterior, donde se analizó el capítulo sexto de la Ley General de Instituciones y Procedimientos Electorales (LEGIPE), en el que se establece todo lo relacionado con el voto de los mexicanos residentes en el extranjero.

LCCC to undergo $1.5M renovation

State Rep. Matt Lundy (D-Elyria) has announced the approval of state funding in the amount of $1,581,625 to renovate the Physical Science Building located on Lorain County Community College (LCCC) campus.
