Cleveland’s 50th Annual Puerto Rican Parade is August 5th


The Hispanic Police Officers Association with Julia de Burgos Cultural Arts Center, is a co-host of this year's 50th Annual Puerto Rican Parade celebration in the city of Cleveland, Ohio on August 5th, 2018.

This year’s Grand Marshal is community activist Michael Ferrer of Lorain. Michael is currently Advocacy Chair & Trustee for the Coalition on Hispanic/Latino Issues & Progress (CHIP), working to ensure that Latinos receive fair and equitable treatment in the workplace, schools, and the community at large. 

Celebrate the rich history of cultural awareness, pride, and education the Parade has represented within the city of Cleveland. The Latino Community, is a resilient community, one who's love for their homeland, spirit of freedom, justice and unity, have never wavered. And note that July 25th is Puerto Rico’s Constitution Day.  


Immediately following the Parade will be a ceremony presenting this year's Grand Marshal, Padrino, Madrina and Queen. There will also be a Community Fair featuring food, resources for those displaced by Hurricane María, activities for children (face painting), Safety/Community activities, and vendors ready to offer attendees additional resources and incentives.


PARADE KICK-OFF: West 16th and Clark Avenue at 12:00pm
