Immigrants in Ohio and all over the country are being targeted in scams, and I want to warn folks in our communities to not become one of the victims! 

Scammers may call or email pretending to be a government official. They will say there is a problem with a visa application or additional information is required to continue the immigration process. They will then ask for personal and sensitive details, and demand payment to fix any problems.  Do not fall for these deceptive tactics.

The US Citizenship and Immigration Services, or USCIS, will never ask for payment over the phone or in an email. If a payment is required you will receive a letter on official stationery requesting payment.
