The eBus--Fifth Third Bank's Financial Well Being Tour is coming to Northwest Ohio June 8 - 13

Toledo: Fifth Third Bank - Northwestern Ohio will bring the Financial Empowerment Mobile, the eBus, to several locations throughout Northwest Ohio during the week of June 8, 2015.  Visitors will have the opportunity to benefit from free community resources which will be housed on the eBus. The following services will be provided FREE OF CHARGE:

  • Obtain a FREE credit report and receive one-on-one guidance and financial counseling; 
  • Job Coaching and Training;
  • FREE Health screenings;
  • Learn about career opportunities through the Fifth Third Jobseekers Toolkit;
  • Veteran Programs and Services;
  • Youth Fun Days and more.

The eBus is a 40-foot retrofitted city bus equipped with Internet-accessible computer workstations and staffed by professionals who provide much needed services.

Fifth Third’s eBus tour will focus on the financial and physical well being of Northwest Ohio residents and veterans.  Visitors to the eBus will partake in free one-on-one personalized counseling including advice about savings and budgeting, home buying and borrowing, understanding your credit, protecting your identity, and an array of community services. 

Fifth Third will also offer access to its popular initiative “NextJob” to any interested residents seeking help with résumés, cover letters, interviews, networking and other related topics.  OhioMeansJobs – Lucas County will be available (June 8-10) to assists jobseekers in searching for local area employment opportunities.

The June schedule for the eBus is as follows:

Monday, June 8, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.  Fifth Third Bank and Lucas County Job and Family Services will host the eBus at 3210 Monroe Street, Toledo.  Fifth Third will also be joined by Northwest Ohio Development Agency and United Way 211.  Interim HealthCare will be onsite to provide free health screenings including blood sugar. OhioMeansJobs – Lucas County will be available (June 8-10) to assists jobseekers in searching for local area employment opportunities.

Tuesday, June 9, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.  Fifth Third Bank, YMCA and JCC of Greater Toledo, and Achieve Academy will host the eBus at 301 Collingwood Blvd, Toledo.  Fifth Third will also be joined by Northwest Ohio Development Agency, United Way 211, and Family House.  Food for Thought will bring its Mobile Food Pantry to distribute food and will provide information and assistance on food resources.  Mobile Dentists will be present to provide free youth dental screenings and cleanings.  Interim HealthCare will be onsite to provide free health screenings including blood sugar.  There will be lots of fun activities for youth including beading, face painting and an obstacle course.

Wednesday, June 10, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Fifth Third Bank and Veteran Services Commission will host the bank’s mobile e-Bus at 2595 Arlington Avenue, Toledo.  Additional participants include: Department of Veterans Affairs-Toledo CBOC, VA Homeless Program, YMCA and JCC of Greater Toledo, Northwest Ohio Development Agency, United Way 211, and Red Cross.  Tireman Auto Service Centers will provide a free car care clinic.  Interim HealthCare will be onsite to provide free health screenings including blood sugar. There will be lots of fun activities for youth including beading, face painting and an obstacle course.

Thursday, June 11, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Fifth Third Bank, OhioMeansJobs (OMJ) – Hancock County and The Family Center will host the bank’s mobile e-Bus at 1800 N Blanchard Street, Findlay.  Fifth Third Bank will join Hope House for the Homeless and Hancock Metropolitan Housing Authority in bringing its mobile eBus to the Findlay residents.  OMJ – Hancock and Hancock County Job and Family Services will be provide local job seeker services and Ohio State University Extension - Hancock Saves will provide one-on-one credit and financial counseling. Interim HealthCare will be onsite to provide free health screenings including blood sugar.

Friday, June 12, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Fifth Third Bank and Tiffin Community YMCA will host the bank’s mobile eBus at 180 Summit Street, Tiffin.  Fifth Third Bank will join Tiffin-Seneca United Way, Seneca County Job and Family Services, and Ohio State University Extension - Seneca County Office, and WSOS Community Action Commission in bringing its mobile eBus to the Tiffin residents.  Also attending will be representatives from First Call for Help (school supplies program), SMYL (Seneca Mentoring Youth Links, and Seneca Habitat for Humanity. There will be lots of youth fun activities and games.  Interim HealthCare will be onsite to provide free health screenings including blood sugar.

Saturday, June 13, 9 a.m. – Noon: Fifth Third Bank, Firelands Regional Medical Center, and Sandusky Farmers Market will host the bank’s mobile e-Bus at 279 Market Street, Sandusky.  Firelands Regional Medical Center will provide free health screenings and nutritional information and OhioMeansJobs – Erie County will provide mock interviews.

Originally launched in 2004, the eBus initiative demonstrates the Bank's commitment to financial empowerment.  It goes beyond teaching personal finance to students in school classrooms -- which the Company does through its sponsorship of Dave Ramsey's Foundations in Personal Finance curriculum and the Fifth Third Bank Young Bankers Club, because bankers literally hit the streets to provide that all-important access to quality financial services and guidance.
