VOTE BY MAIL BALLOT REQUESTS EXCEED 50,000 FOR THE MAY 6, 2014 PRIMARY ELECTION

The May Primary Election is just over three weeks away and the Board of Elections has already received close to 50,000 Vote by Mail ballot applications.  “We are about half way to the total number of ballot requests we expect for this election,” Pat McDonald, Director of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections said.

Voters have until May 3rd to request a Vote by Mail ballot.  “You still have time to request a Vote by Mail ballot for this election and take advantage of the convenience of voting from home and extra time to study the candidates and issues.  However, we are asking voters to request their ballot as soon as possible to allow themselves plenty of time to vote and return their ballot,” said McDonald.

Ballot applications are available on the Board of Elections website: www.443vote.com, by calling the Board of Elections at 216-443-VOTE (8683) and at all public libraries.

The Board of Elections reminds voters to indicate the type of ballot they are requesting on their ballot application.  Voters must select Democratic, Republican, Issues Only, Libertarian, Socialist or Green Party Ballots.  The Board of Elections cannot mail out a primary ballot unless the voter indicates the exact type of ballot they would like.

Over 212 people have voted early at the Board of Elections since early voting opened on April 1st.  The Board of Elections will be open for early voting until May 3rd.

Early voting days and hours:

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Saturday, May 3rd
