BMV selects second winner of “What’s on Your Plate?” contest

COLUMBUS, March 5, 2014: The Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) has selected its second “What’s on Your Plate?” winner!  As this quarter’s winner, Diane Grimes, will be featured on the BMV’s Web site, Facebook and Twitter pages. Diane will also receive a decorative license plate with the personalization of her choice.

Diane was selected from 25 submissions for her powerful story.  Diane’s son, Connor was diagnosed at birth with biliary atresia.  Diane donated 40% of her liver to her son when he was 2 ½ years old.  Diane and her son, who is now 18 years old, have Donate Life plates, Diane with the message “IGAVE” and her son with the message “IRECVD” on his plate.

The runner-up is Carol Fouch. Carol has a personalized plate with the humorous message”JUST1X.”  She says after many years of frustration as a Browns fan and season ticket holder, she finally got the license plate that she wanted. Carol longs to see the Browns play in and win a Super Bowl!

The BMV still wants to hear from you!  If you have a unique personalized license plate, tell the BMV!

Just send the BMV a photo of you with your personalized license plate and a brief summary of how you chose your plate’s message. Email the photo and summary to Communications@dps.state.oh.us and you could be featured on BMV’s Facebook page and BMV’s official website. You could also win a decorative plate award with the personalization of your choice! Plates must be current and valid.  Winners will be selected quarterly.
