Minutes of the
Spanish American Organization Meeting of February 19, 2013
The meeting was called to
order by President Phil Barbosa at 6:28 P.M.
In attendance were:
Carmen Barbosa, Mary A. Greear, Frances Martínez, Phil Barbosa,
Simon Rodríguez, and Jesse Rodríguez.
Frances Martínez led us in
prayer.
The minutes were tabled as
Carmen Barbosa has had problems with her computer and was not
able to print the minutes.
The Financial report was
tabled as Mary Morales was absent.
Carmen has advised that
she will start a calendar of events. If anyone has information
to contribute to this calendar, please email to here. The
Midwest Latino Fest is June 8, 2013. Simon Rodríguez advised
that they had a meeting recently. Simon Rodríguez also advised
that Rico Nellor was not sure if Midwest Latino Fest would need
SAO’s non-profit 501(c)(3) for the Midwest Latino Fest. More to
come on this.
The annual Hispanic
Heritage Mud Hen game is July 28, 2013—its 11th!

Phil Barbosa is still
working on the fundraiser. He hopes to get a letter soon to
Marco Rubio and to Rob Portman. SAO will be looking for a
sponsor for this fundraiser in August. Phil Barbosa has not
contacted Dina Villa for a fundraiser at El Tipico because Dina
has be ill. He will contact her soon.
Simon Rodríguez has
advised that the Spanish American Organization Quad fold
literature will be ready soon. It was printed, but there was a
printing error. It is being reprinted soon.
Per Carmen Barbosa this
literature will be sent to all members and past members in a May
timeframe. It will go out with requests for membership dues.
It will also be sent to business people. All members will get
copies so that they may pass out at different functions that
they attend.

P.M.
Simon motioned to adjourn
the meeting. Frances Martínez second the motion. Meeting
adjourned at 6:45 P.M.
