The Henry Ford Community College (HFCC) Music Dept. will
present the 18th Annual President’s Collage
Concert on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the Michael
A. Guido Theater in the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center,
which is located at 15801 Michigan Avenue in Dearborn.
This annual tradition began in 1996 with the support of Dr.
Andrew A. Mazzara, then-president of HFCC. Dr. Gail Mee,
the current HFCC president, has continued the tradition of
hosting this special evening, which celebrates HFCC’s vibrant
music program, the largest two-year program in Michigan. HFCC’s
music directors bring together the College’s many choral and
instrumental ensembles for a varied and exciting performance.
More than 250 performers will participate this year.
The first President’s Collage Concert was held at Edsel Ford
High School in 1996. From 1997 to 2001, the concert was held at
Orchestra Hall in Detroit. The Collage moved to its current home
The following HFCC groups will perform at this year’s Collage
two jazz bands – Studio 110 and the Henry Ford Big Band;
two concert bands – Metropolitan Symphony Band and
two vocal jazz ensembles – Blue Fusion and Midnight Blue;
one women’s choral ensemble – Renaissance Voices; and
two mixed choirs – Concert Choir and Vanguard Voices.
HFCC music faculty members G. Kevin Dewey, Rick L. Goward and
Randall L. Knight will conduct the groups.
