Spring UT Piano Series to feature Anthony Pattin and Frances
Renzi
The University of Toledo
welcomes two outstanding pianists to perform in the spring
2013 Dorothy MacKenzie Price Piano Series. Anthony Pattin
will be on campus February 2 and
3, 2013, and Frances Renzi will perform
April 6 and 7, 2013. |

Each pianist will present a master class at
10:00 a.m. on Saturday and a
recital at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Both the master classes and the recitals are free and open to
the public. They will be held in the UT Center for Performing
Arts Recital Hall.
Anthony Pattin Program: “Three
Visions” (William Grant Still), “Pictures at an Exhibition” (Modeste
Mussorgsky), also works from George Gershwin and Franz Schubert
Dr. Anthony Pattin, a native of Toledo, Ohio, is Professor Emeritus
of Music at the University of Montevallo (Alabama). He has
performed as an orchestral soloist with many orchestras, and
given recitals and presented master classes throughout the
United States. He has also performed at Weill Recital Hall at
Carnegie Hall and at Merkin Concert Hall, and has presented
several concerts in Tokyo, Japan. A versatile musician, he is
also an accomplished organist, composer, and arranger.

Frances Renzi Program: Works by
Mozart, Debussy, and Chopin
Frances Renzi, Professor Emerita at The University of Toledo,
received her Master of Musicfrom Juilliard School. A solo
pianist for the New York City Ballet performing Stravinsky’s
Capriccio for Piano and Orchestra and Brahms Liebeslieder
Waltzes, she alsoparticipated in the Stravinsky Festival at
Lincoln Center. Renzi is an extraordinary chamber player who has
performed with numerous orchestras, and given recitals in Weill
Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York, on the Dame Myra Hess
Memorial Concert Series in Chicago, and throughout the United
States. |
