December 28, 2012: The Toledo Zoo presents Winter
Weekends all through January and February, 2013, featuring
half-price admission (Lucas County residents get an extra
discount) and sizzling activities every weekend. It’s frosty fun
that might just make you forget it’s winter!
Each Winter Weekend offers cool activities in warm places,
from magic and puppet shows to ice-carving demonstrations, live
dance performances and hands-on science. That’s on top of
Cabin Fever Feeds, where you’ll watch your favorite Zoo
animals chow down all across the Zoo, from vultures and
orangutans to hornbills and giant spiders.
In addition to half-price admission in January and February, the
Zoo offers free admission to Lucas County residents from
Saturday, January 19 through Monday, January 21. Don’t miss
special visits with everyone’s favorite monster, Elmo, on
Saturday, January 19! Saturday also features Science Day in
Nature’s Neighborhood, sponsored by BP Husky Refining LLC, with
hands-on science fun and Imagination Station activities. The Zoo
offers a similar Lucas County Appreciation Weekend over
President’s Day weekend in February.
In January, the Toledo Zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For
more information, visit
toledozoo.org or call 419.385.4040. Lucas County
residents are admitted free of charge each Monday from 10 a.m.
to noon. ID showing proof of residency is required.
Visit
toledozoo.org/winter for a schedule of
activities, all offered free with regular half-price
admission.
