Danziger has
served on the OLC Board since January 2006 and was
vice-president/president elect in 2007. She has served the OLC in
numerous other capacities including but not limited to co-chair of
the OLC Futures Initiative Technology Task Force and coordinator
of the OLC’s Northwest Chapter.
During her
tenure as Deputy Director of the Toledo-Lucas County Public
Library Danziger has worked tirelessly as an advocate for public
libraries and librarianship. Her efforts at the library and her
involvement in statewide initiatives earned her the OLC’s
Librarian of the Year award in 2005, which recognizes
librarians who exhibit distinguished service to the profession for
active and innovative leadership within the community and across
the state.
Danziger was
hired as Deputy Director of the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library
in 1985 and also served as the Library system’s business
department manager and cataloger. She received her Master of
Library Science from the University of Illinois as well as a
bachelor’s degree in music education from the College of Wooster
and a bachelor’s degree in music from
Bowling Green
State
University.
Locally,
Danziger is a member of the Toledo Symphony League and the Toledo
Area Chamber of Commerce’s Governmental Affairs Committee.
Danziger’s other professional affiliations include the American
Library Association, the Public Library Association (PLA), and the
Library Administration and Management Association. She served on
several PLA committees including, Legislation, Technology in
Public Libraries, and Services to Multicultural Populations.
Danziger
resides in Sylvania with her husband Ed. The couple has two grown
children and one granddaughter.
