La Revancha plays last gig

.
Vocalist/guitarist Leonardo Ruiz of Latino Rock/Jazz band La Revancha, was sad last Saturday, because his band was performing its last gig,…at least for now.

Ruiz hails from México City, but he formed La Revancha while living in California. He then moved to Bowling Green so that he could obtain his Master’s degree in business at BGSU.

When Chivas—that sensational soccer team from Guadalajara, México—offered him a job as its marketing director, it was too good to pass up so Ruiz sojourned back to California the day after the group’s last gig at Howard’s Club H.

But it was bittersweet for Ruiz, who had come to love Ohio and his many friends and fans.

La Revancha had become a regular performing group at functions such as the Diamante Awards, the Méxican Consulate’s Grito Ceremonies at SS. Peter & Paul Church, and Latino Scholarship Day with the Toledo Mud Hens.
.

“I will miss the Midwest, but look forward to the challenge with Chivas. I love soccer and business and they combine beautifully with being the marketing director for Chivas,” said Ruiz, “I am very blessed with this opportunity.”

La Revancha has released two CDs and has a Web site at: www.larevancha.com.
