LatinoFest
V was diversified and awesome
Last weekend, downtown Toledo
was
the focal point for LatinoFest V.
Over 2,000 attended each day, at Promenade
Park.
LatinoFest’s Saturday offered diversified music and talent in the
form of: Explosion Latina (Brazilian dance troupe, based in Cincinnati),
Dejavu (Latin pop, rock, and funk), Alofoque (Reggaeton, based in Boston),
Oro Solido (Merengue and hip-hop, based in New York),
and David Lee Garza y Los Musicales (Tejano, based in San
Antonio). |

Sunday showcased the talents of regional Tejano and Conjunto bands
such as Dezeo, Bad Boyz, Tejano Sound, Invenzible, and Maximo.
Folkloric dance groups Imagenes Mexicanas and Corazón de México
as well as Somos Tres (Hip-hop, Toledo)
also performed.
TV personality Tony Rios (Voces Latinas) was the MC.
LatinoFest V was co-chaired by Celso Rodríguez and Consuelo Hernández,
with the mighty assistance of a large committee including:
Margarita De León, Tony Rios, Alvina Costilla, Betty Rios, Bob
Salazar, Theresa Morris, María Trinidad, Marisol Ibarra, Lulu
Perales Rios, Raquel Rodríguez, Roberto Gutierrez (Real Rob),
Jeff Sabo, Linda De La Peña, Katherine Trinidad, Olga Jaimez,
Mateo Espinoza, Citifest, George Plasencio, Angela Romo, and Josh
Flores.
This is the fifth year of LatinoFest. It is usually hosted the
second weekend in June, followed by Festival Latino in
Columbus
, the
subsequent weekend. |
